The two directors, Matthias Hemesath and Christoph Schwarte gained their first experience of the concept of e-commerce whilst still at school and also the design, construction and running of websites. The first business concept was based on the marketing and sale of second hand projectors.
The projectors came initially from leasing returns, later, celexon purchased end of line projectors from reputable manufacturers. The concept ‘Beamershop24’ was developed in 2004. At the same time, Hemesath and Schwarte created the brand ‘celexon’ for the manufacture of projector screens and ceiling mounts. In 2005 ‘beamershop24’ was launched as a division of celexon GmbH & Co KG.
Beamershop24 quickly grew to become the largest supplier of projectors in Germany thanks to strong relationships with the manufacturers and its customer focused strategy. The online shop was awarded “best shop of the year” in the projector category by Chip three years in a row. It is now one of the leading and most popular internet shops for home cinema and AV equipment.
The rapid growth necessitated a move to larger premises and in 2008 a new warehouse and office were built. In November 2008 the team moved into the new premises (which has a total area of 26000 sq ft).
In the future, new and innovative products will provide possibilities for new potential markets.
Furthermore celexon has expanded into Europe: in 2008 Celexon Netherlands B.V was founded and more recently the celexon group expanded in the UK (Celexon UK Ltd) and France (Celexon France Srl).
The new premises in Germany have created the infrastructure to allow for future growth.
